Conducting video calls by passing through a network firewall meant opening and closing communication ports, leaving networks vulnerable to possible attacks.

With LifeSize Transit, experience better communications without compromising on security. LifeSize offers an enterprise-class firewall / NAT traversal solution that will be seamless to end users and simple to set up and manage. LifeSize Transit creates a secure path through a firewall without compromising IP security.

To support more security-conscious environments, LifeSize Transit also allows users to enable TCP communications instead of UDP, and, in a future release will support HTTP communications. This feature allows users to close down selected open port types to gain maximum flexibility and security in their traversal implementation.

Simple to Use
LifeSize firewall traversal technology makes it easy for LifeSize® Room™ to communicate across a firewall to another LifeSize system or other vendor system.

LifeSize Transit includes a SIP-based plug and play appliance that bridges any firewall or NAT boundary including strict corporate firewalls. The LifeSize Transit solution will also work with most common SIP-based endpoints.

High Performance, Scalable
LifeSize Transit Server is scalable and supports up to 20 simultaneous calls up to 1Mbps. Clustering support is available to both increase capacity and increase system resiliency. LifeSize Transit Client will support up to 10 simultaneous calls up to 1Mbps.

Components

LifeSize Transit Server
The LifeSize Transit Server provides signaling, media and registrar services in a single appliance, handling up to 500 device registrations and up to 20 simultaneous 1 Mbps calls. Using Internet addressing and domain technology, users can register endpoint devices utilizing URI dialing for easy naming conventions (videocall@company.com).

LifeSize Transit Connector
All LifeSize Room video communications systems include the LifeSize Connector software at no additional licensing fee, enabling the LifeSize Transit solution out of the box and making LifeSize Room ready for firewall / NAT traversal support.*

LifeSize Transit Client
The LifeSize Transit Client enables non-LifeSize video endpoints to securely traverse firewalls. LifeSize Transit Client is both easy to install and easy to use, and will support up to 20 third-party endpoints in its base configuration, with up to 10 simultaneous 1 Mbps calls.
